Saturday afternoon, January 21, 2012 - just received word that Tina has passed from this life into God’s loving hands. Prayers for her and her husband and children are coming from all the Frey Family around the country. Eternal memory and Blessed repose.
For those who are unfamiliar with Tina, she is the youngest daughter of John (oldest of the original 13 chilren of JWA and Ellen Frey) and Mary Margaret Daley Frey. She is one of the 77 cousins we spoke of when Howard Frey died last week. May her soul and the souls of all the faithful departed rest in peace.

Hello Family & Friends.
... I’d like to take this time to say thank you for your support & prayers. It has meant a lot to me . I Ask that you continue to pray for me.Times will be tough so I will need your continued support.
We gave Howard the Party of his life!!!!!!!!!! Annette will fill you in on the Mass part. I will tell you about the grave site. The family all gathered around the casket and we brought out a bottle of Glenfiddich Scotch and 2 glasses .We filled each glass and passed them around ,everyone sipped and toasted him. The rest we poured over the casket . A fitting ending to his life. He loved his Scotch.
The luncheon was wonderful, Sue did a great job as did the ladies of the church. Thank you

A HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who came to greet us and say good bye to Howard at Sperling’s Funeral Home and to all those who attended a packed St. Mary’s for the Funeral Liturgy, Final Commendation, and meal at Meenan Center. Although the “Head Usher” was probably already greeting others in the Heavenly Kingdom, I’m sure he was especially proud of Lisa and Christopher and their fine tributes to their Dad. How they did it, I don’t know, but they really said who he was and we all thank them for this.
After the prayers of final commendation, just to send him off in real style, we toasted his life with his favorite drink of scotch, this time Glenfiddich Scotch ( a gift of his friends!) and poured that which remained over his casket!
The celebration of his life continued with the wonderful meal hosted by the women of the parish and the “non-stop” chatter of the St. Mary community, friends, relatives and soooo many of our cousins! Marlene, Lisa, Greg, Allyson, Nicholas, Christopher and Amy; we his sisters: Sr. Annette, Eloise, Donna, Judie, Mary Kay, Geri, Melanie and all the spouses are again so appreciative of your love, prayers and all the support we have received during these very difficult months. We are grateful that he did not have to suffer any longer, but we will all miss this fine man who loved us all.

Yesterday, January 16th, 2012, Howard was laid to rest. Marlene and his children, Lisa and Christopher, did an outstanding job of sending him off to his reward in heaven.
Sunday, January 15, saw so many friends and family members coming together at the funeral home to affirm Howard’s life and goodness. The overwhelming comment was “too soon.” But, a few days before he died, I remember Sr. Annette saying “All in God’s time”, and I must say amen to that. We don’t know the time or place when God calls us. And, it is never the right time for those left behind.
For those members of the family who were not able to attend, Mass was celebrated at St. Mary’s Church (Howard & Marlene’s parish church) on Monday, the 16th, and was so beautiful and personal. Howard’s sisters were all there, with a reading done by Geri and Prayers of the Faithful by Donna. The choice of music was so perfect and it was difficult for a lot of us to sing with those big lumps in our throats, but we managed to participate as did Msgr. Francis Frey on the altar. Actually, there were 3 priests on the altar to celebrate Mass – Howard’s pastor, Fr. Dave Jastrab, Uncle Msgr. Francis Frey and Fr. Ray Trance, a friend of Howard’s since St. Justin’s High School. Father Ray gave a glimpse into the adolescent, young, fun of Howard’s life and then celebrating Masses on the 40th and 50th wedding anniversaries and up until now. Lisa and Christopher spoke so well in eulogy of Howard and brought us his life as a Father through their eyes – and he was a good Dad. Talking to the rest of the family you knew what a good man Howard was. We family members already knew that, but the quips, memories and stories brought all of it into the celebration of his life. As I look at the program for Mass, it is titled “Celebration of the Life of G. Howard Frey”. It really was a celebration. Howard is buried in St. Mary’s Cemetery and a luncheon was served at the church hall next door to the church.
One other thing I want to share is that Dorthea McGough’s birthday was also yesterday and we sang Happy Birthday as she turned 96 years young. She is amazing and very familiar to so many of us. You may remember her – Mary Catherine Frey’s sister and she reminds me of Mary Catherine. She is in good health and is happy to speak with everyone.
I hope others can add more to this small smattering of information.

Joy Robie - Update on Tina: She was in good spirits yesterday when i sat with her. She was a bit confused and agitated in the morning, however after she slept she was calmer. She was still joking and making me smile yesterday. However today when my father and Rob were with her, it was not good. She is now on oxygen full time. Hospice also came today and increased her pain medication to help keep her comfortable. My father said that she was not conscious most of the day today. Please keep her in your prayers. We can only hope that she knows she is surrounded by loved ones. We are all praying for Howard and Marlene. May God Bless both Tina and Howard.

This is a sad day in the Frey Family. The “patriarch” of his generation of Freys, G. Howard Frey, passed away from a brain tumor this morning, Friday, January 13, 2012. Grandma and Grandpa Frey are welcoming him today - their first grandchild. Prayers are going out for his wife Marlene, daughter Lisa and son Christopher.
May Howards’s soul and the souls of all the faithful departed through the mercy of
God rest in peace.

A bed become free and Howard was admitted to Good Samaritan Hospice about 8 PM Saturday PM. It is a 6 bed in patient hospice about 10 minutes, if that from their home. The Staff is knowledgeable and caring. I went over at 9 AM to feed him only to find that he was not responding. I had fed him breakfast and lunch yesterday and he ate well!
Death is probably not immediate since he is so well nourished and hydrated, but probably soon. So just keep he, Marlene and all of us in prayer as Howard moves to meet Our Giver of All Life and enjoys His company forever.
We do appreciate all the notes of support that keep coming our way.
